Wow, time has flown. I sure hope my mission doesn't go by
this fast. I have absolutely LOVED every minute here in the MTC. It was
definitely fun and hard but was absolutely worth it. A very wise mentor of mine
will always say "work hard and have fun, and if you're not having fun work
harder because the fun is in the work" If you are obedient and work hard,
miracles will happen.
I have learned so much Danish, so much about myself, the spirit, Jesus Christ, and other people. I have been able to experience and participate in so many great opportunities from singing for the new mission presidents, hosting tours for the brand new buildings, listening to many inspiring and uplifting talks, making and becoming close to so many new friends, and teaching many lessons. I have been able to feel so much love for so many others. I have felt the love of our Savior for those we teach. I have been blessed to be able to just meet them, teach them, and feel the Savior's love for them to a magnitude unlike anything I have felt before.
Tears have been shed during both wonderful lessons where the spirit was so strong it seemed you could touch it, and when it would seem our atheist investigator was not progressing at all despite all the love for him and the desire for him to just taste of the wonderful fruit of the gospel. I have had the opportunity to host incoming missionaries and witness the tender hearts of parents, younger brothers, sisters, and missionaries as they leave their family for two years to help other families to be together forever.
Every day is a new day. Every minute is precious and we must
utilize this wonderful gift we have been given to help others come closer to
Christ by loving and serving all we see. However, as a missionary and as one
who must focus all the energies of their heart, one must not forget to first
become converted to this glorious gospel. It is mind boggling to think that one
who has given and dedicated two years of his or her life to helping others come
closer to Christ and yet fall away off of the path of righteousness towards the
love of God our Father in heaven desires so much for us to receive.
Are we
reading the Book of Mormon every day? Are we praying to our beloved Father in
Heaven every day? If not, how can we expect to be able to have the strength
necessary for us to fight against the darts of the adversary?? We MUST never
take the scriptures and our ability to pray to God for granted. We must fight
the good fight with all our might. Lift up our eyes and SEEK His face. I know
this work is true. This is Christ's church. His work is going forward with full
force! Hurrah for Israel!
My invitation to you
is to study in Alma 32. Think about how you can apply the word in your life and
why it is so important to. I love you all!
Elsker,
Ældste Haruch
